My City Too

Young Londoners make their point at City Hall

My City Too! Was a youth participation campaign co-directed by Victoria Thornton and Lee Mallett, run by London Open House (before it became Open City), to involve young people in local planning.

The campaign kicked off with the development of a Manifesto, created by young Londoners who critiqued their own areas with the help of volunteer professionals.

Local issues illustrated how young people weren’t catered for by their local environment and a manifesto was created and presented to Mayor Boris Johnson in his first term, and updated for his second.

My City Too! was also a great introduction to built- environment issues for young people taking part.
